The Charter
An overview of the Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People adopted by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops to assist the dioceses and eparchies of the United States in responsibly treating the issue of sexual abuse that is of grave pastoral concern to the Church.
The Program
An overview of the Eparchy of Passaic's safe enviornment program directed at meetiing the challenge of safeguarding our children, young people, and all who attend our parishes and programs from any threat to their safety and wellbeing.
Code of Conduct with Minors
The Code of Conduct with Minors is absolute guidance for all ministry within parishes, institutions and programs of the Eparchy of Passaic that serve children and young people. All Clergy, Employees and Volunteers who have regular contact with children and young people within the Eparchy are bound to observe this code of conduct without exception..
Safe Environment Review Board
This board is a representative body of laity and/or clergy who are consultative to the Bishop of the Eparchy of Passaic in matters related to maintaining a safe and healthy enviornment for ministry within the Local Church of Passaic.

(2) Process Directions
Provides complete directions for accomplishing the mandate safe environment process for all Volunteers, Clergy and Employees who serve in the Epachy of Passaic.
(3) Training Texts
Adult Safe Environment Training Text
This text provides the required training for all Cergy, Volunteers and Employees who have regular contact with childlren and young people by virtue of their service or employment in the Eparchy of Passaic.
Childrens Training Syllabus
This material provides those envolved as teachers in Eastern Christian Formation Programs of a parish community with guidance and materials for accomplishing the mandated annual training for all children and youth enrolled in such programs of religious education.
(4) Criminal Background Check Process
This segment of the website provides full directions for accomplishing the mandated criminal background checks for all who serve children and young people in the parishes, programs and institutions of the Eparchy. It is divided into two types: Parishes Outside the State of Pennsylvania and Parishes and Programs in the State of Pennsylvania.

Disclosure/Authorization Form
Must be completed supplying all requested information, initialed as appropriate and signed. Incomplete forms will be returned and the process will be held up.
PA Cost Reimbursement Form
To be utalized by all Volunteers wishing to be reimbursed for any cost associated with criminal background checks in the State of Pennsylvania.
Volunteer Roster Form
For use by Pastors of parishes to submitt inquires regarding the safe environment status of individuals volunteering for service in parish programs serving children and youth.

Helpful information regarding the obligation to report possible abuse and the process by which such reporting can be accomplished.

(7) Clergy
Letters of Good Standing & Celebrets
This section provides guidance to Clergy (Priests & Deacons) who are requesting such documents for service outside the Eparchy of Passaic. It should be noted that the USCCB Charter makes such documents manditory in all dioceses and eparchies of the United States.
Annual Clergy Safe Environment Training Presentation
The manditiory annual safe environment training for clergy is ususally accomplished by the priests and deacons of the eparchy in presentations at their annual retreats. However, for substantive reason, it may be accomplished by those unable to attend through the review of the training material presented in this section of the website.
Annual Safe Environment Training Certification Form
Must be submitted to the Office for a Safe Environment in Training for certification of annujal training mandate. Those who do comoply with this mandate will not be eligible for Celebrets or Letters of Good Standing.
